Champion Junior Female - Aotearoa Boadicea

Aotearoa Boadicea brings home a first in her class (Junior White Female) and the Champion Ribbon for Champion Junior Female from the Central Region Show in New Plymouth. Boadicea is half sister to Aotearoa Mana the New Zealand National Reserve Champion Junior Male 2007. Boadicea is by Banksia Park Samuri ET and out of Hadstock NZ Amazing Lady. With bloodlines including Inti, Maid of the Mist, Highlander, Brigantine, Sculptor, Warrior, Banksia Park Peruvian Kikasa and Banksia Park Samuri ET, Boadicea is armed with a lineage fit for a queen.

United Nations declares 2009 the International Year of Natural Fibres

In 2006 the United Nations declared 2009 the International Year of Natural Fibres.

We have approached the executive of the Alpaca Association of New Zealand to find out what our Association is doing to get behind this event, and are awaiting a response from them.

We will post updates about any events or information that happens as a result of International recognition of this year.

2009 World Conference and International Fleece Show

The 2009 World Conference will be hosted by the Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association (AOBA) in Cleveland, Ohio, in June. Early information out is that it will be held at the I-X Centre (International Exposition Centre) located on a site at the Cleveland Airport. We will post confirmed details when they come about.

2008 World Conference and International Fleece Show

We recently returned from the Inaugural World Conference and International Fleece Show in Sydney Australia, held in March 2008 and we would like to thank and congratulate the Australian Alpaca Association (AAA) for their innovation and execution in hosting such a successful event. We are also pleased to announce that Aotearoa Mana's fleece, entered into the International Fleece Show was Highly Commended out of close to 500 entries with only 14% of entries receiving a placing or commendation.

Aotearoa Mana

We are delighted to introduce Aotearoa Mana, a stunning junior male carrying top bloodlines and exhibiting superb fleece characteristics. Mana’s genetics include: Inti, Maid of the Mist, Highlander, Brigantine, Sculptor, Jolimont Amazing and Mitchell Park Gladiator. His dam Hadstock NZ Amazing Lady is one of our best females and the granddaughter of the famed Jolimont Sculptor now deceased. Mana’s sire Mitchell Park Gladiator was selected for his fine fleece as a senior male, his conformation and his gentle temperament.

The genetic mix of dam and sire has produced fleece characteristics which stand out from the rest of our herd. His fleece structure consists of deep crimp, very merino like in character, in long thin bundles which are consistent all over including legs, tail, neck, rump, withers and bonnet.
